Consultation has concluded

This Community Land Management Plan is in place to protect the community interests in “Community Land” for current and future generations providing Council direction for the use of each land parcel.

All local government land (except roads) that is owned by a Council or under a Council’s care, control and management is Community Land under the Local Government Act 1999unless it has been exempted through legislation, excluded by resolution of Council or the classification has been revoked.

In accordance with Section 196 of the Local Government Act 1999, Council has existing Community Land Management Plans (CLMP). A CLMP is a document prepared in consultation with the community, it identifies Community Land, the purpose for which it is held and provides direction for the use of each Community Land parcel.

The existing CLMP’s have been reviewed to ensure that each document is legislatively compliant and reflect Council’s current Policies, management practices, requirements and intentions as to the Community Land which they relate. They are now presented to the community for comment.

Following the community engagement process, it is envisaged that following consideration of feedback received the revised CLMP’s will be presented to Council for consideration for adoption in July 2019. Once adopted, Council must continue to manage the land in accordance with the relevant Management Plan for each of the sites.
