Hi Second Valley! Let's talk about what's next for your township & surrounds.

The District Council of Yankalilla is working alongside the Second Valley community to co-create a shared vision for the future of your town and its surrounds.

We’re picking up the conversation that started during the 2019–2020 Nature’s Best – Let’s Plan the Rest engagement and the What’s the Future? campaign for the Strategic Plan 2030. Back then, we heard that communities across the Fleurieu Coast were looking for township plans that reflect local identity, aspirations, and priorities.

The plan will:

• Help shape the future of Second Valley by capturing your local knowledge, ideas and goals.
• Strengthen the connection between Council and the community through ongoing collaboration.
• Serve as a formal document to support community-led funding applications and future development.
• Help guide public, private, and community investment in shared outcomes.

Myponga and Cape Jervis were the first townships to go through this process. Now, we’re excited to work with you, the Second Valley community, to create something meaningful for your township.

How Can You Be Involved? There are multiple ways for you to have your say.

• We have already used a Targeted consultation approach with local community groups to revisit and test previous ideas. If you are involved in a group that wasn’t approached and you are interested in having us present and hear your thoughts, please reach out.

• Wider community engagement, including in-person feedback at the October long weekend Second Valley Market.
• Online participation right here on Your Say Yankalilla, where you can share your views, read past feedback, and stay updated.
