NOW OPEN: Participate in Council's Annual Business Planning process

The District Council of Yankalilla invites you to provide feedback on the Revised Draft 2024-25 Annual Business Plan until Tuesday, 11 June 2024.

PROJECT UPDATE: Tuesday, 17 May

Elected Members returned to the Chambers at a Special Council Meeting on 14 May 2024 to revise the 2024-25 draft Annual Business Plan & Budget, including the Long-Term Financial plan.

Council is looking to demonstrate an enduring commitment to financial sustainability and armed with advice from ESCOSA, its external Auditor and its own Audit & Risk Committee, it is resetting the draft for the next financial year to reduce the likelihood of future rate increases being out of step with the sector. The revised increase is comparable to a large number of metropolitan and regional Councils. Read on...

Focussing on long term success - Community Conversations

Our approach to the 2024-25 ABP & Budget

With a review of Council’s overarching strategic management plan – the DCY Strategic Plan: Vision 2030 and Four Year Focus – currently underway, the 2024-25 financial year will be one of focussing on long term success and transitioning into a new four-year planning cycle.

Our approach to developing the proposed Plan has focused on setting a solid foundation for Council's long term financial sustainability and service delivery. It has involved some hard work and tough decisions, but done right, this Plan will set us up for success into the future.

What is an Annual Business Plan & Budget?

Each year, Council prepares an Annual Business Plan & Budget that describes the changes to the rates and overall budget for the coming financial year. It also outlines the programs, services and projects Council intends to deliver to the community.

The process of developing the Annual Business Plan & Budget involves reviewing and updating what we intend to deliver as part of working towards the DCY Strategic Plan: Vision 2030, Council's Long-Term Financial Plan 2024-34 and its Asset Management Plans. We seek community feedback and publish the information to the community each year in an Annual Business Plan.

What will we do with your feedback?

Council will consider the feedback given by the community at an Elected Member Forum in June 2024 before the final 2024-25 Annual Business Plan & Budget is presented to Council at a Special Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, 25 June.

We will post the final 2024-25 Annual Business Plan & Budget on the District Council of Yankalilla website in July 2024.
