The District Council of Yankalilla is responsible for appropriately managing public access to Council and Committee meetings, as well as the availability of associated documents, within legislative parameters.
Under the Local Government Act 1999, Councils are required to review this Code periodically and seek public consultation on any proposed changes.
Our Code of Practice goes beyond minimum legislative requirements, committing Council to a biennial review to ensure it remains current and relevant. This review is now underway, with several proposed amendments identified.
Council is now seeking community input to ensure the Code continues to reflect our strong commitment to transparent and accountable governance.

All feedback will be carefully considered before the final Code of Practice is presented to Council in August 2025.
Any party who has made a written submission will be notified of the outcome
Should Council adopt the Final Code of Practice, the updated version will be published on our website, with printed copies available at cost in line with our Fees and Charges.
