Signage at gateway locations, township entrances and localities generates a sense of belonging to place and strengthens unity and pride within local communities. For travelers, thoughtful signage installations say much about the nature and character of a place and generates a strong sense of arrival and reassurance.
After successfully installing Gateway and Township signs at key locations in 2015/16, Council, in its Annual Business Plan for 2016/17 has committed to rolling out Year 2 of this project to build on the suite of District Gateway and Township Arrival signs throughout the District.
In Year 2 we will produce well designed and positioned signage that reflect the unified vision of the developed Fleurieu Coast: Made by Nature place brand and we need your input to help us reflect the individuality of each township.
Council has selected 6 townships and 1 locality to participate in this process this financial year.

Rapid Bay
Cape Jervis
Wattle Flat
Inman Valley will also receive it's second sign on the western entrance to the township this financial year.
It's time to ask you – our residents – about the character and unique aspects of your town. This survey is designed to help identify the key attributes that you associate with your town (not the overall district) and provide an opportunity to share ideas about what you would you'd like to see reflected in the sign design.
We will be holding two community meetings to further develop your ideas.

Township arrival and locality signs will be manufactured and installed at Carrickalinga, Myponga Beach, Wattle Flat, Delamere, Rapid Bay and Cape Jervis.
District Gateway signs will be installed at Pages Flat and Willow Creek.
