Council is progressing a proposal to revoke Community Land classification of the Council-owned reserve at 2 Hobart Road (corner of Williss Drive), Normanville - and we're inviting your feedback.
The land - legally described as Allotment 28 in Deposited Plan 6561, Certificate of Title Volume 5553 Folio 730 - is currently classified as Community Land and managed as a reserve under Council’s Township Reserves Community Land Management Plan. Council has resolved that the site is surplus to its requirements for reserve purposes.
The site is approximately 1,058 square metres and was vested in Council following a 1960 subdivision. This small reserve is located approximately 275 metres from Bungala Park, a well-developed open space of more than four hectares offering mature trees, sheltered areas, barbecue facilities, public toilets, walking trails and other amenities.
Before Council can consider any future options for the site - including potential sale - the Community Land classification must first be formally revoked through a legislated process. This process includes preparing a revocation report, undertaking public consultation and considering all submissions received. If Council decides to proceed following consultation, the proposal must also be approved by the Minister for Local Government.
Importantly, declaring land surplus does not authorise its sale. Community Land cannot be disposed of unless the revocation process is completed and approved. This ensures decisions are transparent and based on overall community benefit.
We’re now inviting you to review the Community Land Revocation Report and share your views before Council makes any further decision.

and, if revocation ultimately proceeds, how the sale proceeds could be used to benefit the community

The Community Land Revocation Report has been prepared in accordance with Section 194 of the Local Government Act 1999 and is available to download from this page. Copies are also available to view at the Council Office, Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm.
